Rihanna Slams Topshop In Court—And Lands It With A Huge Bill

A victory for Rihanna! The singer won a permanent ban against Topshop after the retailer was selling T-shirts using an unauthorized (and let's face it, pretty unflattering) photo of her.
The snap was taken by a freelance photographer on the set of her We Found Love music video back in 2011 without her permission.
After Wednesday's ruling, RiRi's lawyers were granted an injunction forbidding Topshop from using her image in the future. This means a collab with the two parties is highly unlikely. The judge said that it was "right and fair" to grant the singer a permanent injunction to prevent similar unapproved usage of her image on apparel.
The judge then ordered Topshop to pay Rihanna's estimated £919,000 legal fees (about $1.4 million), adding that her fees were "startling" and "somewhat surprising".
Since Rihanna was not required to be in court for the hearing, we were unable to contemplate her court fashion choices, in the manner of Lindsay Lohan and co.
