Imagine this story: a dude finds a drawing in a garbage bag on the street. The drawing happens to be a David Hockney sketch of Ossie Clark. Said dude sells it to Sotheby's for $17,000 and took the windfall to Mother Teresa, who urged him to build a clinic in Orissa, one of India's most poverty-stricken regions. True story: The guy happens to be Michael Daube, who founded charity Citta, which is committed to building clinics in impoverished places all over the globe. Last night, cool kids got their party on at the Tribeca Grand hotel to raise funds in conjunction with Paper Magazine to help build a Women's Health Center in Jaisamlmer, India. A total of $12,568 was collected, thanks to the efforts of host Mr. Mickey, and his supporting time of Kelly Cutrone, Bibhu Mohapatra, Peter Davis, Prabal Gurung, and Parker Posey. Of course, we're never one to say no to a good cause, especially when the venue happens to be a mere DJ beat from our office. We have to admit that a certain ladies' man, Steven Rojas, whipped up a concoction that was the final nail in our hangover coffin. Luckily, it was all for a good cause.
