Exclusive: Soho’s Hottest New Dude Spot

The corner of Greene and Broome Streets is a die-hard New York shopper's idea of heaven, with luxury boutiques as far as the eye can see. Louis Vuitton jostles for prominence with Burberry, as J. Lindeberg casts a watchful eye on John Varvatos. Among this sartorial splendor comes a new-kid-on-the-block: Onassis. This new menswear store, opening in September, takes the price tags of its neighbors and slashes them by a couple zeros, without sacrificing quality. We first heard of the spot from our office mates, Aux Armes, who are producing all the visuals in their usual style we heart, so we knew it was worth getting the low-down. We're pretty amped about the rugged-but-sleek space, with wood elements, found objects, and unique mannequins, but even more compelling are the clothes on offer. The brainchild between two design studios, one in New York and one in Tokyo, the garments fuse classic American sensibility with the innovation of Japan. Think perfect, soft button-downs, spare flannels, and jeans that will never go out of style. Plus, with style that improves with wear and wash, we think it might be a better investment than those LV monograms.
