Moscot Launches Some Sexy New Glasses!

moscot-mangito-email
The sun is shining (umm, finally!), we've broken out our fave tennis sneakers, and we can't wait to steal some sunshine on Pier 45. Luckily, New York eyewear institution Moscot (the shop has been around since 1915—vintage before vintage was cool), gave us some serious shivers with last week's launch of Mangito, the newest addition to their Originals Collection, a frame that was designed exclusively for women. Quite possibly their sexiest style ever, the Mangito was named after Great Aunt Gladys Moscot, a wanderlust traveler who eventually ended up in Havana drinking Cuba Libres and smoking Cohibas. This seriously rad mama inspired the fresh frames, and their unique lines and curves make a provocative statement (think Sophia Loren, Brigitte Bardot, or even Chloë Sevigny). If you're not a sun-catching kinda gal, the specs also come as eye-glasses, turning up your geek-chic quotient an extra notch or ten. Shady or clear, with these frames we won't mind being called four-eyes.

The Mangito is available in black or tortoise and features a 7-barrel hinge with two rivets on either side. $199 for glasses, $229 for sunglasses.
