Unleash Your Inner Irish Lass With These St. Paddy’s Day Festivities

St. Patrick's Day is coming up, and even if you can't trace mom and dad back to the Emerald Isle, everyone should feel a little Irish for just this one day. Whether you want to go the green beer and shots route, or keep a little quieter, sipping on an Irish whiskey cocktail, we're looking out for you. So, here's a list that covers it all, from beer festivals, to green-beer taps, to bagpipes. It's all Irish all the time, so here's hoping there's a pot-o'-gold at the end of your figurative rainbow.

Casey's Irish Pub

This bona fide Irish bar shuts down Grand Avenue for its celebration, which includes music from the Los Angeles Police Emerald Society Pipe and Drum Band. It's a full-on experience for a die-hard St. Patty's Day partier.

Where: Casey's Irish Pub, 613 S. Grand Avenue (between 6th and 7th Streets); 213-629-2353.

Where: Molly Malone's, 575 S. Fairfax Avenue; 323- 935-1577.

St. Patrick's Day Festival

St. Paddy's and Laker Girls might not seem like they have anything in common, but worlds collide at this DTLA event featuring a mini-parade, Irish food, drink, and the Los Angeles Police Emerald Society Pipe and Drum Band.

When: Saturday, March 17, 4 to 8 p.m.

Where: L.A. Live, Nokia Plaza, 800 W. Olympic Boulevard; 866-548-3452.

Rush Street

Possibly throwing the Westside's biggest St. Paddy's Day bash, Rush is busting out bagpipes, and pouring L.A.'s largest selection of Irish beer — plus a selection of whiskey and cocktails. Classic Irish folk and rock music will be playing, and did we mention six Guinness taps, six green-beer taps, beer pong on the patio deck, and corned beef for both lunch and dinner? Someone's got green spirit!

When: Saturday, March 17, 10:30 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.

Where: Rush Street, 9546 Washington Boulevard; 310-837-9546.

The Daily Pint

Known for its craft beer and scotch, this bar will open a little earlier than usual and Irish drink specials and karaoke will be going strong. Don't forget the holiday-themed food, corned beef, and cabbage, of course, served after 4 p.m.

When: Saturday, March 17, 11:00 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Where: The Daily Pint, 2310 Pico Boulevard; 310-450-7631.

With a selection of more than 200 whiskeys, this Irish gastropub on Main Street is an obvious spot for toasting. You can get your grub on early as well as taking advantage of drink specials and giveaways from Guinness. Live music starts at 1 p.m. with the party going all night. Hint: If you want to save on the $10 cover charge, get there before 2 p.m.
