It may only be Thursday, but that doesn't mean it's too soon to be plotting those weekend sales. Whether you're on the hunt for handmade quilts or a psychic reading, we've got five local events that'll get you in the giving spirit. Taking place tomorrow, now's your chance to score an entire weekend look for less than a single piece. Now, all that's left to iron out are your Friday night plans!

The Weekender: The Quest By Hayley Starr Edition
Think you've got itinerary overload? Wait until you check out the back-to-back events taking place this weekend at The Quest by Hayley Starr. Tomorrow evening marks the opening of Lorien Haynes' art exhibit within the walls of the Venice shop. Starr herself was enrolled in an art course with Haynes, and is thrilled to share her works with her customers. And swing by again on Sunday for an astrology reading with Kundalini Katie. Her talk and meditation will be followed by shopping, mini-AstroWise and psychic readings (for $15 a pop), Moon Juice golden milk, healthy treats, and holiday mingling. What a way to recharge and prepare for the year ahead!

When: Friday, December 14, 6 to 9 p.m. and Sunday, December 16, 6 p.m.

Where: The Quest by Hayley Starr, 2122 Lincoln Boulevard (at Venezia Court); 310-360-9711.

The Real Reason Why You Should Be Following Whitney Port On Instagram

We follow Whitney Port on Instagram for a bunch reasons (she's known to snap everything from vacay candids to birthday cake and even words of wisdom), but it's the fact that the designer takes to the app to announce her upcoming sample sales that we love her feed the most. We caught wind of her latest event not from a PR email blast or a BFF's tip, but just by perusing her pics! Head downtown for the discounts on dresses, tops, and skirts tomorrow, and don't forget to follow the Venice dweller, stat!

When: Friday, December 14, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Where: 833 Spring Street, Room 202 (between East 8th and East 9th streets); no phone.
