Dressing for a summer cocktail party is always a sartorial tongue-twister, so consider our frustration planning an outfit for a fete on a farm (!) during this insane heat. Saturday night we had to do just that for the charity Love Heals 12th annual event to benefit the Alison Gertz Foundation for AIDS Education at Luna Farms in Sagaponack, this year billed as "Coney Island Comes to the Hamptons." While we managed to through a lil' something together, we're still in awe of supermodel Hilary Rhoda, who struck the right balance of casual and elegance—and stayed pristine—in a white Helmut Lang blazer (cuffs rolled up, of course), cropped pants, Lanvin sandals, and a two-tone saddle bag. Despite the Nathan's famous hotdogs, a Patron Margarita bar, monster BBQ (pulled pork, anyone?), and, weirdly enough, soft-serve bananas on tap, we're guessing Rhoda stayed stainless by sticking to Chandon's sparkling, clear cocktails, which we also spotted being sipped by her fellow co-chairs Mary Alice Stephenson and Pater Davis. As for us...well, would you blame us for mixing our alcohols? Best believe we hit up the dry-cleaners this A.M..
