Athleisure can be a somewhat off-putting term. It doesn’t exactly roll off the tongue, and the uninitiated will definitely meet it with an eyebrow raised. But, we believe there is one simple way to translate the trend (and terminology) for the masses: it's using your gyms clothes to serve a lazier purpose. You’re not participating in a 5K fundraiser. You’re not putting up your dukes in a kickboxing class. The only performance in your performance wear is the kind that you apply at the office or in front of a street style camera — certainly not a bad thing, just not nearly as sweaty.
