Brooklyn Darling Rebecca Turbow Makes Her Finest Collection Yet!

rebecca-turbow-safe-fall-09
We've been following Brooklyn indie-avant-garde designer Rebecca Turbow for years and years now. Does anybody remember that dress that looked like a spacesuit? What about the mint green dress fashioned to look like a '50s housewife apron? Kooky, wacky, or sometimes just darn pretty, Turbow's come a long way from her days of space boots and sci-fi helmets. Behold: Her line Safe's fall '09 lookbook, a sleek and polished take on minimal black-and-white dressing. She's even branched out into menswear, with cute matching looks for gal and guy pal. We love the ruffled dress with origami detailing (easy to wear with a touch of her conceptual flair) and matching vest for dudes (the origami detailing there cleverly looks like a fanned and folded napkin). At this rate, it's only a matter of time before she gets catapulted into the limelight and starts scoring Uniqlo deals and all that. Start the star watch now, and don't say we didn't warn you.
Check out the rest of her fall '09 lookbook on Coutorture.
