This Full-Size Stadium Is Also Brooklyn’s Coolest Mall

While Brooklyn is already home to some of our favorite boutiques and vintage shops, we wouldn't necessarily say we're heading there to get our mall fix. But, will we? Thanks to the New Jersey Nets, things in the outer borough may never be the same again. The NBA team's newest home, the Barclays Center, is set to arrive this September and offer retail options way beyond just jerseys. According to WWD, retailers have begun to vie for storefronts in the sports and concert arena that will soon land on our map in a major way — with help from Brooklyn's own, Jay-Z, who's also a co-owner of the Nets.

To date, it's been reported that we'll be able to shop athletic gear (obviously) in the downtown mega center, including a super-sized Adidas store and possibly Lululemon. However, we're most stoked for the non-gym-friendly gear, namely Intermix and Y-3, rumored to possibly be making their Brooklyn debut in the same arena. Makes us wonder: Will Brooklyn's billion-dollar sports center be one of the best things to happen to the borough's retail scene? And, could this sports-and-fashion combo be even better than the Kate Upton/Zoo York commercials? (Is that answer too obvious?) (WWD)
