It’s O.K To Be A Pig At The Brooklyn Bacon Takedown

bacon
We're not picky eaters around here, and we can guarantee that if we have the option to have bacon on something, we will take it 110% of the time (well, except for the half of our office who doesn't touch meat). Some things are simply worth the undeniable calories and inevitable health risks. And other New Yorkers seem to agree. On October 16, the third annual Brooklyn Bacon Takedown will pit 20 chefs against each other as they try to put forth their very best bacon-centric dishes. If you've got a bacon recipe that's simply to die for (literally), email organizer Matt Timms to enter yourself as a contestant (the bacon will be provided!). All you other bacon enthusiasts can buy tickets to the event, where you can sample each and every bacon-y bite and vote for your favorite dish. To prepare, we suggest you find your best food baby outfit and lay low on the salt for the next few days—you're going to get a year's worth at the event. Tell us your favorite bacon recipe below! (Gothamist)

When: Sunday, October 16, at 2 p.m.

Where: The Bell House, 149 7th Street (between 2nd and 3rd avenues); Brooklyn; 718-643-6510.
