Kanye West Open Forum: Thoughts On His Sophomore Collection?

Kanye West's quickly built relationship with fashion is unprecedented and weird, and yesterday's runway show really provided an outlet for people to air their frustrations and praises of the man. The industry and celebrity support he's enjoyed so far is way beyond any up-and-coming designer, no matter how talented and connected he or she may be, ever sees.

Just check out 1) his front row, which contained the likes of Anna Wintour, Jay-Z, and Kim Kardashian; 2) the media outlets that covered him, which range from the NYT to Tumblrettes across the globe; 3) the other designers like Guiseppe Zanotti and Louise Goldin who helped him to create his vision…for his second season.

It's hard to see the show objectively without looking for reasons to hate it or reasons to love it, but we tried… and we found it unoffensive! While we're not head-over-heels for (or even compelled to buy) any of the pieces, we wouldn't object to putting them on — which, considering his first show, is a compliment. The shoes, that peach dress, and the abundance of Givenchy rip-offs, on the other hand, we could do without. But...we want to know your thoughts. What do you think about Kanye's line, his place in fashion, and what his celebrity has to do with it all (or if it even matters!).
