This was a banner year for beauty. There were jaw-dropping celeb makeovers, budget-friendly DIYs we'll be making use of long into 2016, and several game-changing product launches. Then, there were the not-so-great moments: cultural appropriation, social-media challenges gone wrong, and so many negative discussions around hair.

On top of all that, you could consider 2015 the year of the gross beauty treatment. Between semen facials, urine as an acne treatment, and the origin of the latest anti-aging ingredient (you won't believe it; see slide 21 for the jaw-dropping story), it’s safe to say some peeps took it a little too far in the name of beauty.
