Revealed! The Official Alexander Wang For H&M Pics Are Here

Thanks to Instagram sneak peeks, and outfit debuts courtesy of Rihanna, there’s absolutely no doubt that Alexander Wang’s forthcoming H&M collection is going to give your closet a kick in the derriere. But, in case you want further proof that the designer is going beyond basic workout wear, these new ads should do the trick. Wang's recruited English soccer star Andy Carroll and kickboxer Rivaldo dos Santos to pose for the campaign, which debuted this morning on WWD. These real-life athletes join supermodels (and Wang runway favorites) Joan Smalls, Raquel Zimmermann, Isabeli Fontana, and Natasha Poly for a result that’s both stylish, and maybe a little bit intimidating.
Shot by Mikael Jansson, the images are a first look at Wang’s twist on neoprene dresses, mesh logo jerseys, and billowy jackets, all of which take major cues from his signature brand of sexy athleticism. As the designer told WWD, he was inspired by bits and pieces of different sports, which give his “accessories” — like all-black boxing gloves, hockey sticks, and a football — deeper context.
However, the collection’s overall vibe is far more warrior hero than gym rat (the stark photography and hero-poses don’t hurt, either). So, while we probably won’t be wearing them on the treadmill this fall, these are clothes we'll want to wear pretty much everywhere else.
Click through the slideshow to see the women's images campaign — including Joan Smalls as the world's most badass field hockey player — and then continue on to H&M for the full shebang, and to start plotting which pieces you’re going to scoop up when they land in stores November 6. (WWD)
