The rest of the world seems to be catching up to Suno's vantage point, with tunics over pants, unconventional color match-ups, dizzying print-mixing, and baggy silhouettes slowly becoming part of your daily street-style stalk. You don't bat an eye anymore when you see an aggressive blouson jacket over a voluminous baby-doll tunic…but that kind of shape-shifting acceptance might not have crossed over (yet) to Suno's latest offering: The hiked-up boxer brief.
It's a move you're probably familiar with (but haven't openly admitted to). In the winter, we'll confess to tucking things into our underwear or tights to keep things secure. And, sometimes, said underwear and tights may peek out from underneath our pants and skirts — but that's definitely and always inadvertent. However, seeing the plaid and pinstriped bits at the top of two pairs of trousers at Suno yesterday caused us to reconsider things, because it kind of looked…cool? And, not in a long-haired hesher sort of way, or cargo-shorted frat boy sort of way, or any sort of way that requires a sweaty, bare chest and a beer can. We'll take ours with a crisp oxford, slouchy trousers, and a statement heel, please (and can we talk about those Nicholas Kirkwood for Suno spring collaboration shoes? Divine.)
Taylor Tomasi pulled off a similar look back in June, and we love how charming this little waist riff looks on the Suno runway, too. Most likely, the "boxers" are an extra bit of trim sewn onto the top of the pants, but if you're impatient, it's an incredibly easy thing to DIY. Don't forget the black satin tie, the pretty pair of heels, and an attitude that says "Yes, it's supposed to be like this." Any haters are welcome to head toward the left.
