8 Things To Do In NYC This Week

This week's calendar may seem like it will have us all over the place, but that's only because we like being all over the place! Everywhere at once, if you will. From summer sales, to Restaurant Week, to outdoor workouts, to dance performances, we're soaking in all that New York City has to offer.
Wine and dine.
New York Restaurant Week is back in action, kicking off today and running through Friday, August 15. Round up a group and pick a restaurant or two. Because when else will you be able to enjoy a three-course meal for $25 at Manhattan's finest?

Help a guy out.
All Saturdays NYC spring and summer items are up to 25% off. Boardshorts, tees, sweaters, outerwear, accessories, and bottoms are all marked down, so you can shop while the items are still in season. Your best friend, boyfriend, brother...they'll all be thanking you for the tip.
When: Now through mid-August.

Mix and mingle.
Strand and CoverSpy have joined forces to host a singles literary mixer including drinks and refreshments from Sigmund's Pretzels, Brooklyn Farmacy & Soda Fountain, and more. Head to the rare book room to enjoy a speakeasy-inspired throwback evening with other literary-minded folks. Who knows? A fairy tale ending may await.

Journey through cyberspace.
WIKIMUSICAL follows two estranged brothers trapped in cyberspace. Need we say more? This original musical, characterized by an Alice in Wonderland-like logic and wit, explores modern civilization's preoccupation with the virtual world through hip-hop lyrics, choreography and so much more.
When: Tuesday, July 22 at 1 p.m. and 5 p.m.; Saturday, July 26 at 9 p.m.

Work up a sweat.
The not-for-profit Meatpacking District Improvement Association (MPIA) will host its monthly series of "Classes on the Cobbles" this Thursday at Gansevoort Plaza. The four back-to-back classes are presented by Exhale Spa, Asics, Lululemon, and Chelsea Piers and teach yoga, zumba, strength training, and self defense respectively. Classes are free but reserving your spot online is highly recommended.

When: Thursday, July 24 at 5:30 p.m., 6:15 p.m., 7 p.m., and 7:45 p.m.
Where: Gansevoort Plaza, on Gansevoort Street between Hudson and Ninth Avenue.

Be the life of the party.
Shane McGowan will be sharing his tricks and tips from behind the bar. Learn to make two specialty cocktails and take home a limited edition tote filled with the Andaz 5th Avenue mixology kit so you can concoct the drinks at home.

Look into the "circus of the business world".
This weekend, OUI DANSE — a dance collective founded in 2013 by French choreographer Brice Mousset — will present "Travailler: Act 1 & 2" at the Ailey Citigroup Theater. Through intricate, technical movements and intense theatricality, the company's dancers will demonstrate how the idea of success can pollute the mind.

The Vintage Twin is hosting a pop-up shop starting this Saturday. Vintage pieces for both ladies and gentlemen, as well as a selection of home goods, will fill the space for five days only. Stop by, find a fabulous new piece, and support charity — 10% of all proceeds are donated to Human Rights Campaign.
