Sexy, gorgeous, and funny to boot — Sofia Vergara might just be one of our all-time favorite girl crushes. It was immediate infatuation when she first graced the small screen as Gloria in Modern Family, and we can’t help but be equally enthralled with her larger-than-life personality. And, let’s not overlook the obvious: Her brows are downright to-die-for. Seriously inspiring.
So, when we had the chance to speak with one of the best in the brow biz, Tonya Crooks of the The BrowGal (she's best known for her work with stars like Megan Fox, Eva Mendes, Britney Spears, and Jenna Dewan Tatum) we just had to ask how to steal Sofia’s bombshell brows. Yep, it was really that easy. Read on.

Tip #1: Let it all grow out.
“Put the tweezers down and give your brows a chance to thicken up," says Crooks. "The trend going forward is big, thick, manicured brows, so do whatever it takes to make sure you get there." She notes that products like RevitaBrow are a godsend for those of us who are less-than-blessed in the brow department.

Tip #2: Shape your stuff.
You’ve got your beautiful, bushy brows. Now what? Crooks recommends first holding a pencil vertically alongside your nose; this is where your brow should start. Then, extend the pencil from the corner of your nose to the corner of your eye, where your brow should end. Finally, find the highest point of your brow arch by holding a pencil on the tip of your nose and crossing the iris of your eye. The highest point of your arch should be where the pencil meets your eyebrow. “Mark these three points and connect the dots,” says Crooks. “You always want to create two parallel lines that intersect at the end.”

Although brow shape is crucial, don’t get too caught up in copying an exact look. While a strong arch looks great on Sofia, it might not be the right arch for you. “The most important thing is to find the shape that belongs on your face,” Crooks says. “It may not look natural if you organically have a straight brow or arc brow.”

Tip #3: Work what you got.
“If you have thin brows but the shape is correct, it is really easy to bulk up the brows and make them appear thicker by using the right product,” says Crooks, who uses her own BrowGal pencils as her main go-to. Start by brushing your brows upward. Then, create shape by using small, hair-like strokes with a sharp brow pencil, working from beginning to end, top to bottom. Make sure to use strokes that go up and through the brow, Crooks says, which will create a more natural look.

“Then, using a double-ended highlighter stick, I like to create a highlight line one millimeter beneath the pencil line,” says Crooks. Gently blend the highlight line with your finger and use the other end of your highlighter pencil to add shimmer, which “creates the illusion of a bigger, thicker brow.” Finally, set with gel and you’re good to go!
And, remember: “Just like fashion changes, so do eyebrow styles,” Crooks says. “They are a fashion accessory in their own right.”
