The scene opens with a row of stationary marionette puppets — pretty but lifeless — and quickly transitions to a scene of spirited women, dolled up in the latest collection from Miu Miu, dancing and celebrating under a magical setting of strings lights and confetti. Music plays, hands clap, and the party rings on with joie de vivre. This is the trailer of the newest addition to the Miu Miu Women's Tales.
This week, Miu Miu will debut a fresh installment of the this series at the Venice Film Festival, ensuring that the voices of women filmmakers are heard. (Huzzah!) Directed by Hiam Abbass, Le Donne della Vucciria is the sixth chapter in the Women's Tales short film project and will premiere August 29. We landed a sneak peek of the teaser, which is set in the beautiful Italian city of Palermo.
