Can You Guess The Next Hot Shopping District In NYC?

Some days, it seems the Big Apple is changing so much and so fast that we can barely keep up. There are constantly new 'hoods and trends popping up — it's a full-time job just keeping it all straight. And now, just when you thought you were finally getting used to everything, the fate of our retail-scape is in flux. Sure, Soho and Fifth Avenue may be money-spending meccas now, but there's a whole new breed of shopping districts ready to take over.
The team over at Commercial Observer recently got down to the bottom of things, and picked out the 10 hottest, up-and-coming 'hoods for all things retail. While there are some predictable areas (South Street Seaport and the Upper East Side have been building up shops for awhile now), we were surprised by newcomers like Hudson Yards, Brookfield Place, and Downtown Brooklyn — turns out this city's got some major development tricks up its sleeve. Think glass-enclosed entertainment complexes, riverside malls, and pedestrian shopping centers. Tell us: Where will you head to spend your hard-earned cash? (Commercial Observer)
