What’s In A Name? PPR Henceforth Will Be Called Kering

Just when we got used to dropping the Yves from Saint Laurent, another staple among the luxury fashion industry has also decided to change its name. Pinault-Printemps-Redoute, or what was commonly referred to as simply PPR, will be further known as Kering (pronounced like "caring"). As reported in WWD today, the change marks the company's shift to "a fashion and accessories specialist in the luxury and sport/lifestyle segments," one that already works closely with Alexander McQueen, Gucci, Balenciaga, the aforementioned Saint Laurent, as well as recent addition and one of the London's brightest young stars, Christopher Kane.
Thankfully, we all have a bit of time before saying PPR is so 24 hours ago. PPR's fresh identity, including its new owl logo, is expected to officially shift as of its annual general meeting on June 18, 2013. (WWD)
