Jon Hamm Plays Chess Against Kid Geniuses, Melts Our Hearts (More)

We're so head over heels in love with a certain Don Draper that it's easy to forget that Jon Hamm is real a guy — you know, outside of Mad Men. And, as it turns out, that real guy isn't too shabby either. Not only does he have serious comedic chops, but he gives back to the community, too.
Hamm and our arch-nemisis his longtime partner, Jennifer Westfeldt, recently held a special screening at NYC's Soho House for the new documentary Brooklyn Castle, which tells the story of students at Williamsburg's IS 318. Despite more than half of the school's pupils living under the poverty line, they've managed to rack up 26 national titles — in chess.

In addition to promoting the inspiring film, Hamm spent some quality time with a few of the flick's young stars. In particular, he sat down to challenge them to a game of chess — that he lost, of course. We don't know what's hotter: A guy with the guts (and brains!) to take on a chess champion, or a guy who can lose gracefully to a kid. (New York Post)
