Just Opened: A Dreamy General Store Where Everything’s One-Of-A-Kind

1
Who said general stores were archaic institutions, bound for extinction? Because the new Clic General Store, an extension of Clic's destination bookshop, clearly isn't losing out to evolution what with its updated ethos of the traditional Mom and Pop shop. Filled with a curated collection of unique goods (think: fanciful dreamcatchers and quaint leather accessories), this eclectic browsing mecca — both at Clic's East Hampton and Nolita locations — is generally a dream. Calypso founder Christiane Celle curates every item for sale (clothing, home goods, and adornments), which are all handmade and sourced from independent artisans from around the globe, and the merchandise is meant to complement the bookstore-cum-everything-store inventory. Designers featured include hard-to-find brands like Wendy Nichol, Electric Love, Fredericks & Mae, Atsuyo et Akiko and Jess Brown dolls. "We're able to offer our clientele one-of-a-kind pieces made with love," says Celle. Obviously, we love them, too.
