An Annotated History Of The Kardashian Family Khristmas Kards

Update: December 5, 2017 at 2:20 p.m.

Twas a fortnight before Christmas and, once again, all through the internet, people wondered what the 2017 Kardashian Christmas card would look like. Kim Kardashian is already actively teasing the card on her Instagram and Snapchat, and we're getting excited. While we await Kardashian's next big kard, let's take a moment to revisit the ghosts of Christmas past.

Original post follows.

'Twas a fortnight before Christmas and all through the internet, people really wanted to know what the Kardashians would do for their 2016 Christmas card. Would it be simple, like last year's pared-down piece? Or will the card feature Kardashians as we know them: loud, grandiose, and verging on comical?

The family has a history of rather absurd seasonal greetings. But Christmas is a time when absurdity is allowed — enjoyed, even. From inflatable snowmen to pine trees the size of City Hall, holiday cheer often comes in one variety: tacky. Now is the time of year when the Kardashian's overblown style is absolutely warranted. We want glitz! We want glamour! We want the whole family coated in gold flakes and used as Christmas ornaments! (Just saying, that's not a bad idea for a family Christmas card.)

As we lie in wait for the 2016 Kardashian Kristmas Kard, we invite you to enjoy the spectacles from past years. Ahead, you'll find Kendall Jenner in a tutu, a bowl cut or two on Kourtney, and so many delightful holiday moments from the family's history.

Late '80s
The earliest of the cards, this relic pictures some classic 80's attire (looking at you, knotted pearl necklace) and the most adorable bowl cut ever on Kourtney.

This pre-historical (as in, before the family recorded their every move) card is nearly inexplicable. Kourtney raises her hands as if to ask, "Why is Santa wearing sunglasses and what's with this giant tie?"

Somewhere Deep In The 1990s
The jury's still out on when this photo was taken, but it looks to be from the late 1990's, based on the attire.

This was the last photo to feature all of Caitlyn Jenner's children.

Here, we have the what remains to be the most important members of the Kardashian clan: Caitlyn, Rob, Kourtney, Kim, Khloé, Kendall, and Kylie.

Just prior to the television premiere of Keeping Up With The Kardashians (which hit the screens in 2008), the family enjoyed a more low-key Christmas card. Fun fact: the blonde at the right hand side is Caitlyn Jenner's daughter Cassandra Marino.

Every good photoshoot needs a ladder, right? On a more serious note, Kylie Jenner is the one on the ladder, which, if one reads into these things, might be symbolic of the young Jenner's meteoric rise to come.

It's like prom, but the whole family snuck into the photo!

The whole family is in chic black and white — except for Kris Jenner, who wears a glittery turquoise.

I'm dreaming of white Christmas — with confetti and Champagne and a kitten and all of my family looking joyous! Here, Penelope Disick is just a baby and Scott Disick is still in the picture.

This one may take a minute to digest. There are neon lights, a spiral staircase next to a money sign, and a floor littered with gossip magazines. Lamar Odom is no longer present, as he and Khloé had separated by this time. Also, hey, no Rob Kardashian to be found.
