Taylor Swift Continues The Fight For A Tights-Less NYFW

New York Fashion Week may seem like all fun and games, but the city doesn't completely stall for street style. Taylor Swift, for one, is juggling front-row invitations plus promotional duties for her upcoming 1989 world tour, her professionally-shot BFF portrait (otherwise known as Vogue cover), and her latest music video. (Probably why she hasn't answered your texts, HAIM.) So, after penciling in Jimmy Fallon yesterday, the singer orchestrated a quick outfit change before heading to NYFW.
For the Oscar de la Renta show yesterday, Swift swapped her Jumbotron duds for something much more fashion-y: a red, jacquard Oscar dress, to celebrate the late designer and support Peter Copping's debut at the house. Swift's dedication to her look was so strong that she even ditched tights, instead baring her legs — and her ankles, in strappy Christian Louboutin pumps — in the below-freezing temperatures.
We've seen the move before. Some scratch their heads at the thought of stepping out in February with even an inch of skin exposed; others call it a "power move." We're calling it "having a driver on call to make sure you don't spend more than a minute standing outside."
