Just when we thought Rihanna might have been headed for normcore beauty territory, she went ahead and changed up her game completely. At the iHeartRadio Music Awards, RiRi rocked out with a head full of Bantu knots, which were so Jada Pinkett Smith in The Matrix Reloaded. But, our favorite part of the look had to be her lipstick, which was a very surprising shade of green.
It wasn't just the insane metallic emerald (similar to this Dolce & Gabbana version) that we dug, but the fact that Rihanna kept licking it off her lips — giving her a green tongue. (Tinted-tongue syndrome is a condition we've suffered before as well.) All this leads to the obvious: Rihanna is a beauty badass. She's completely fearless when it comes to her hair and makeup. Those twists could look somewhat dated on someone else, but by pairing them with an of-the-moment (and totally out-of-the-box) lip color, she manages to stay modern — and so damn cool.
Call it a mic-drop or a slam dunk — call it whatever. Rihanna, you and your green tongue win the beauty game today.
