Hedi Slimane Replaces Stefano Pilati At YSL

It was just reported that Hedi Slimane has signed on to be the new creative director at Yves Saint Laurent (the official announcement should be made in the next week). Recently, Hedi Slimane has pretty much kept out of the design spotlight, choosing to focus on his photography and miscellaneous projects after acting as head of YSL menswear, and working at Dior Homme. This will be Hedi's first time designing womenswear on such a large scale, but, as WWD reports, his past forays into womenswear have been much lauded. No word yet on where Stefano Pilati will head.
