Tommy Hilfiger Turns 25 With The Strokes

We can remember dabbing on some Tommy back in 8th grade, and we'll forever be grateful for Hilfiger for helping us make the boys swoon. But it's still a mind-bender to realize the designer has been around for 25 years—my how time flies (remember when the brand was rapper's bread-and-butter?). The American icon celebrated his Silver anniversary in pure Tommy style, with a monster-sized bash at The Metropolitan Opera at Lincoln Center. Rows and rows of cute, blazer-clad young men greeted us at the entrance, where a neon lit display of the designer's initials the size of a small building set the tone for just how epic the bash would. Inside, a green topiary flag nestled in the Opera house's steps harked back to the preppy-with-a-twist style that's Hilfiger's hallmark, while a stage seemingly floating in the middle of the multi-tired venue reminded us that the designer is also no stranger to a lil' rock'n'roll. We boogied down to a performance by The Strokes, and so too did guests like Jennifer Lopez, Rumer Willis, Christina Hendricks, Jeremy Piven, Bradley Cooper, Lenny Kravitz, and Neil Patrick Harris. Tommy set the bar high in terms of FW parties—designers will be hard-pressed to match the venue, especially that killer wraparound terrace that looks over the tents—isn't 25 such a good age?
And we weren't partying the whole time! Check out our interview with Jeremy Piven for some major lolz.
