Tavi Gevinson has been sharing her life with the Internet at large since she was not a girl, not yet a woman. We watched as she shifted her focus from fashion to making Rookie a forum for young feminists to share their formative experiences. As the site's founder and editor-in-chief, Tavi revealed many of her own coming-of-age milestones and, in a way, Rookie was her very own digital Boyhood.
Now, Tavi is all grown up and graduated (as Eminem would say). She's currently in New York City starring in This Is Our Youth on Broadway, but she still made time to fly back home for the rite of passage known as high school graduation. While her dad actually handed her the diploma, somehow Jimmy Fallon is the one who really ended up taking Tavi's achievement to heart.

Gevinson first appeared on Fallon's show when she was a sophomore in high school, and she returned last night to promote the play and Rookie's new book. Tavi compared her graduation experience to the Green Day song "Good Riddance (Time of Your Life)," and something about that really just hit Jimmy Fallon right in the gut. He couldn't stop singing the song and tearing up, thinking about how time is just passing us by, and we have to stop and celebrate. We feel you, Jimmy. (Styleite)
