Preen Does Ice-Cold Minimalism for Spring 2011

Justin Thornton and Thea Bregazzi's hip-to-trot label Preen is always one of our favorite shows of the season. Whether it's a red power dress or an A-list front row, the husband-and-wife team consistently wows. For spring 2011, the front row may have been the same (Harley Viera-Newton air-kissing with a Preen-wearing Leigh Lezark, and Mickey Boardman bling-ed out in a massive statement necklace), but the clothes took on the minimalist fervor sweeping designers, with a series of pale blues so icy they were almost white morphing gradually into a desert wasteland of khakis and creams. There were plenty of A-line skirts and dresses with extra boning, the kind that needn't the air from a subway grate for its volume and sex appeal. But the Boom Boom set should not fret: there were some LBDs in there, too—enough to ensure that Preen will continue to fly off the shelves this coming spring.
