The Shoe Brand EVERYONE Is Talking About

When footwear designer Paul Andrew won the coveted CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Award in November, his eponymous label immediately went from under-the-radar to toast of the fashion world. Earning the style seal of approval from industry mavens like Anna Wintour and Diane von Furstenberg sealed Andrew's status as a rising star, casting him into the same trajectory that previous winners, like Alexander Wang, Proenza Schouler, and, most recently, Public School, have followed since landing the prize.
For anyone familiar with Andrew's work, it's no surprise that the 35-year-old, British-born New Yorker received such accolades for his feminine — and quite sexy — pumps, flats, and kitten-heel slingbacks (which he considers one of his signature silhouettes).
To get an inside look at Andrew's creativity and precision, we sat down with the designer at his studio to talk working for Alexander McQueen straight out of college, being mentored by Anna Wintour, and why there's such a difference between American and British fashion.
