President Obama Is Bringing The Heat To South Beach

obama-embed
As a part of President Obama's campaign trail, Barack himself will be making a detour in Miami this Thursdaynot to vacation (although we wouldn't mind treating him to a mojito). The purpose of the president's South Beach drop-in is to discuss the U.S. energy policy with the staff and student body of the University of Miami. Already on the way to creating energy efficiency, the UM College of Engineering will present their personal conservation project to the commander-in-chief prior to his speech. Hopefully it can serve as inspiration for larger-scale action on how to consciously use and conserve energy in the future.
While we'd all like to be a fly on the wall to hear President Obama speak about the future of our country, and our planet, naturally security will be extremely tight and tickets are only reserved for UM students. However, rumor has it that the incumbent will be spending the week in South Florida to press on with the Democratic campaign for presidency. Check the jump for more presidential SoFlo appearances this week and how to pick up tickets for Thursday — if you happen to be a Cane Card-carrying student, of course. (The Miami Hurricane)
