LAPD Will Be Out In Full Force For Cinco De Mayo

Who doesn't love Cinco de Mayo? We're already revved up for some much-needed Margaritas (but not so psyched about how Friday morning is going to feel), and the LAPD is prepped to deal with partygoers who have had one too many cerveza. L.A. Weekly has the rundown on where the po-po is going to be: For anyone who's pre-gaming 24 hours in advance, there will be a "DUI saturation patrol" in the Northeast tonight. Tomorrow, on Cinco de Mayo, the LAPD will be patrolling the Foothills area. On Friday, there's going to be a DUI checkpoint on Sunset Boulevard and Genesee Avenue from 7 to 3 p.m., and on Saturday there will be another checkpoint on Sherman Way and Kelvin Avenue from 7 to 3 a.m. While we're sure these patrols are going to lead to an unfortunate night for many, we're all about making sure everyone has a good time as safely as possible. The moral of the story? Enjoy your tequila tomorrow, but don't be stupid.
