4 Crystals That Will Be Right At Home In Your Thanksgiving Centerpiece

The traditional Thanksgiving cornucopia is usually brimming with fruits, vegetables, and seasonal produce that indicates nature's bounty at the end of the fall harvest season. That's all well and good, but if you're considering taking a, shall we say, higher vibe route for your centerpiece this year, we'd like to recommend adding a healing crystal or two to the display. But, not just any crystal will do for Turkey Day.
In the same way that certain crystals are associated with love, protection, and productivity, there are a select few that imbue their users with a greater sense of gratitude. Sure, come Thanksgiving you're probably already in the mood to give thanks, but these stones will help you focus your thoughts toward what exactly in your life you want to show your appreciation for — and how you might go about doing so.

Here, we've rounded up some of the most heart-opening, perspective-shifting crystals out there. It's up to you which one makes it into the cornucopia.

Kyanite

This dreamily blue stone is believed to heighten the user's sense of spirituality and guard them against negativity. Out of this powerful combination of influences comes a greater understanding of and appreciation for the good that surrounds the user. According to Crystal Healing: 2012 and Beyond Discovering and Using Rocks, Crystals and Stones in the New Age by Barbara S. Delozier, kyanite is best kept over the entrance to your home, to imbue your space with positivity and to give you an uplift of good vibes on your way out the door.

Emerald

In Crystal Power, Crystal Healing: The Complete Handbook, Michael Gienger writes that emerald encourages the user to be "upright, goal-oriented, and life-affirming." With this well-known, balancing, and clarifying gem at our side, it's hard not to be. Emerald is believed to boost optimism and clear our thoughts of negativity. In place of any nagging concerns, we gain a renewed desire to discover the beauty and pleasures in the world around us — and, of course, show our thanks for them.

Seraphinite

Easily the rarest stone on our list, seraphinite is thought to remind the user of the blessings they already have in their life. As Ashley Leavy writes in Crystals for Energy Healing: A Practical Sourcebook of 100 Crystals, this stone offers the user a healthy dose of perspective, as its lighthearted influence often alleviates users from unnecessary worries. With seraphinite around, you just might realize you have more to be thankful for than you once thought.

Rose Quartz

We'd be remiss if we didn't mention this (extremely popular) variety of quartz. As you may already know, rose quartz is known as a heart-opening crystal — it's said to promote empathy and compassion, encouraging the user to let their caregiving side show through. In Healing Crystals and Gemstones: From Amethyst to Zircon, Flora Peschek-Böhmer and Gisela Schreiber credit rose quartz with reinforcing bonds of friendship and easing lovesickness. As your relationships are bolstered by this stone, so, too, will your feelings of gratitude for those people.
