Michael Kors Goes Back To School With Art-Class Makeup

As we watched models strut their stuff down the runway at Michael Kors, we were taken in by the graphic stripes, bold color palette, and slicked back hair. What we didn't notice, because it was hidden underneath those cool plastic specs, was the absolutely cray eyeliner that was happening.

Shiseido artistic director, Dick Page, created floating "scribbles" — opaque arcs of color painted into the models creases with lids left bare. Blondes were given blue lines while brunettes got green. The overall effect was one that referenced the '60s, with a mod nod that was the perfect complement to the collection.

For hair, Orlando Pita created a clean, wet-looking style by sweeping models' hair into a deep side-part and then sectioning hair in the back into three pieces — two in the back and then one larger piece folded over top and pinned into place with a thin barrette. This, combined with the texture, gave hair the feel of being in an updo, without actually pulling the hair up. This is definitely one we plan on trying!
