Do You Actually Have The Facts About Planned Parenthood?

Illustrated by Mary Galloway.
Pretty much everyone has had something to say about Planned Parenthood this week — from pundits to presidential candidates to elected officials on both sides of the aisle.

Just in the past 24 hours, Republican Senator Ted Cruz — who's leading the charge to shut down the government rather than continue to fund Planned Parenthood — tweeted an image that read "The news Planned Parenthood is possibly selling the body parts of babies it has aborted is sickening." Meanwhile, Democratic Senator Patty Murray posted a rather different message, saying "It is appalling that in the 21st century my colleagues on the other side of the aisle are pushing to take healthcare away from women who need it."

In other words, people disagree! But, amid all the differing opinions, there are facts about Planned Parenthood, what it does, and how it spends its money, that are just that — facts. Facts that sometimes feel like they're getting lost in the flurry of opinions.

We picked a number that we think are relevant to the debate and put them all together in the form of a quiz. All were researched independently and verified by a Planned Parenthood spokesperson.
