This $1.3 Million Venice Beach Home Is Missing Something Crucial

Somewhere, the real estate gods are laughing their heads off at the crazy things people are willing to sacrifice to put a roof over their heads. From an $800-per-month Silicon Valley toolshed with no running water to a 90-square-foot West Village apartment with a shared bathroom, sellers can get away with pretty much anything these days — and the L.A. market is no exception. As Curbed first noticed, an ultra-tiny, 280-square-foot Venice cottage with no kitchen and only a half bath is currently up for sale at $1.275 million. Buyers better beware: The listing even says it "needs a serious rehab." So, what exactly does this place have going for it? Of course, its location is key, as it's only about a five-minute walk to the Venice boardwalk. But, the real kicker is that one sweet, sweet word that's music to every L.A. apartment-hunter's ears: parking. The listing indicates that this place boasts gated parking for up to four cars — practically unheard-of that close to the beach. This still begs the question: Would you pay that kind of dough for this run-down, pint-sized place? Sound off in the comments below.
