Kim Kardashian To Host The First-Ever Selfie Awards

Just when you thought award season was over, Kim Kardashian, E!, and a bunch of corporate sponsors want to pull you right back in. This morning, a press release for the "First-ever Selfie Awards" landed in our inbox, and oh, is it a gem.
There's also a statement from Kim herself: "I'm so excited to host this brand-new award show for achievement in selfie innovation. Taking selfies is an artistic endeavor near and dear to my heart, and it’s such a vital part of sharing my world with my fans. Self-portraits have a rich and storied history, starting with the paintings of the early Renaissance. The achievements in digital self-portraiture innovation being made daily are an inspiration to everyone, which is why I can’t wait to celebrate the artists at the forefront of this medium on June 21," the host says. Nominees for the awards will be announced closer to June, but the press release does list a few categories which victors will surely use as résumé padding for years to come. Clearly, Taylor Swift is a lock on the cat selfie category. The Beyoncé Award for Waking Up Like This/No-Makeup Selfies
