As far as prerequisites for being a "cool dad" go, David Beckham has them all. He's a soccer star, an underwear model, and thanks to his wife Victoria, clearly knows a thing or two about fashion. But, according to the English athlete, his children need some extra convincing that he's not your average pops. David said that his 16-year-old son Brooklyn is still in the whole, "Daaad, you're embarrassing me!" phase, and, as he told British Vogue, "With Brooklyn, I keep having to remind him that I'm one of the cooler dads."
Even so, this isn't stopping the teenager from raiding his dad's epic closet. David said he recently bought Brooklyn a pair of Kanye's coveted adidas sneakers ("So, I was in his cool books for about five hours"), but now the high schooler has his eye on a different piece of clothing: Saint Laurent leather pants.
"I had a pair of Saint Laurent leather trousers that I had never worn, and Brooklyn found them and wore them and is still wearing them," David said. "Those trousers were my trousers, and they're definitely not anymore."
A quick scroll through Brooklyn's Instagram reveals that he's not exaggerating, either. The budding model posted not just one, but several pictures in which he appears to be wearing said Saint Laurent pants. Leather trousers are a bold move for a 16-year-old kid, but hey — fashion runs in the family. Except, next time you "borrow" a piece from your dad, Brooklyn, maybe keep the social media to a minimum.
