Russell Brand Asks The Media To Stop Bullying Bruce Jenner

A lot of rumors are flying around about Bruce Jenner, whose appearance has changed noticeably as of late. He's also the one person who has yet to comment on these rumors and his evolving look, though, which means that no one should be assuming anything. Still, Jenner is a person who's been in the public eye since winning the men's decathlon at the 1976 Summer Olympics. He's also been a tabloid fixture for the last decade as a member of the Kardashian-Jenner clan. The media is rabid when it comes to keeping up with the Kardashians (and Jenners), and it has latched onto Bruce Jenner's potential transition with a ferocity that should make us all take a pause. No one wants to wait for Jenner to choose to speak when he is ready. Instead, tabloids have published horribly photoshopped pictures of a falsely made-up Jenner with the headline "Bruce's Story: My Life as a Woman." His family is also peppered with questions about his appearance, but they've managed to take the high road. Kim Kardshian West recently told Entertainment Tonight, "We support Bruce 100%. On this one, I will say that I think Bruce should tell his story his way." When Kim Kardashian is making the most sense about something, maybe it's time for the media to take a breather and wait for the person about whom everyone is speculating to speak for himself.  Jenner might soon be doing so in an interview with Diane Sawyer on ABC. "The Olympian and reality star will reportedly sit down with ABC News anchor to come out as transgender," The Wrap claimed. The specifics have not been confirmed, though, so the media is again left hanging with no news to report. In the absence of concrete details, it goes back to making outlandish statements, clamoring in the sea of headlines that wash over all of us on a daily basis.  Russell Brand was sick and tired about the constant Bruce Jenner noise, so he posted a video message about it. "Do you think that people should be judged until they're driven into a hole; perhaps even suicide?" he says. "This is bullying. Stop. Bruce Jenner is a human being. This is not disassociated from the more vivid and violent terrors and horrors of the world. This climate of bullying and judgment and cruelty is a violence of its own nature. It contributes to the climate. All of these things are real...We fill these things with hatred."   Message received. Let's all leave Bruce Jenner alone until he decides to tell his own story.
