Are You Guilty Of Having These Horrible Passwords?

Sometimes, our passwords can be just as embarrassing as our AIM screen names of yore. This writer was not above using her high school crush's name as an account login — a combination that still remains today, despite the feelings having long faded. It's no surprise that simple security codes are ubiquitous, given the ease of remembering them. But, if you're still unlocking your most private information with "123456", it's time for a reality check.
SplashData just released its annual report of the least-secure passwords on the Internet. The list was culled from more than 3.3 million leaked entries, and shows how unimaginative people can be. Interestingly, sports and car fanatics seemed to be most susceptible to hacking, since words like "mustang" or "baseball" ranked high on the list. These banal terms might be acceptable for grade-school students, but they just won't do in the age of server hacks and stolen photos. Read on for the full rankings.
