Finally going to see the ball drop in Times Square, or splurging on the $200 prix fixe dinner at that swanky new spot? Whatever your New Year's Eve plans, you probably thought they were pretty fancy. Sorry, but Instagram — as it so often does — is here to tell you that celebs are up to something so much more elaborate and expensive.
A few hours ago, up-and-coming model Gigi Hadid posted the pic above, showing her and a veiled Kendall Jenner hanging out in Dubai. Gigi's account is also filled with breathtaking photos of the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in nearby Abu Dhabi.

Here's the thing: Gigi and Kendall aren't the only ones. A cadre of models and It Girls are convening in the United Arab Emirates for what would seem to be the most epic NYE, ever. Selena Gomez, Victoria's Secret models Dev Windsor and Josephine Skriver, and Sports Illustrated's "Rookie of the Year" Kate Bock's feeds are chockablock with selfies and scenery from the UAE.
Exactly what this gorgeous girl gang plans to get up to this New Year's Eve is to be determined, but we'll keep an eye on the revelry to come (fingers crossed for a "7/11"-style hotel party). If nothing else, the fact that our very hottest lingerie, swimsuit, and runway models are currently partying it up 7,000 miles away might make it easier for us mere mortals to score a midnight kiss.
Ed. note: While there have been some rumblings of controversy about the group's wearing abayas and hijabs in their photos, this stops short of feeling offensive or appropriative to us. After all, they are in a place of worship where loose clothing and a covered head are considered respectful dress (and in some cases required for entry). We'd do the same thing if we visited a mosque or a church in shorts or bare shoulders.
