As the venerable Kanye West once sang, "My girl a superstar all from a home movie." But, that's not totally true, is it? Kim Kardashian's leaked sex tape with Ray J certainly catapulted her name into headlines in 2007, but it's her set of entrepreneurial and branding skills that have kept it there. So, when Paper magazine challenged itself to "break the internet" for its Winter 2014 issue, there was only one person who could really guarantee its success.
Paper describes Kardashian as "a pop culture fascination able to generate headlines just by leaving her house." She's also got the most famous booty in Hollywood. Combine those assets and you've got one heck of a spread.
Paper enlisted the talents of famed French photographer Jean-Paul Goude to recreate his now-iconic "Champagne Incident" picture. Except we're also getting a taste of a modern-day Holly Golightly here.
The full issue promises even more photographs of Kardashian. "All we can say about the images inside...is...holy fucking shit," writes Paper.
Additional images will be released on Thursday. But, if you're as obsessed with this cover as we are, you can go ahead and buy your own issue right now.
