Marc Jacobs Gets The Classiest Break-Up Letter, Ever

Photo: Via @garypeppergirl. You know that couple that really, really belongs together? That grows together and brings out the best in each other? Marc Jacobs' 16-year tenure as creative director of Louis Vuitton was like that. Still, if Jacobs' split with LV last October was the fashion breakup heard 'round the world, we have to say, the new guy is taking the helm in a very classy way.
Gary Pepper blogger Nicole Warne posted the photo above to her Instagram account this morning. It shows new Louis Vuitton creative director Nicolas Ghesquière's heartfelt letter to guests at his first runway show for LV. Ghesquière says he feels "immense joy at being here." He also thanks those he works with at the fashion house and acknowledges the brand's history of "authenticity and innovation." Most touchingly, he salutes the work of Marc Jacobs and states that he hopes to honor his legacy.
It's a respectful, humble nod to the magnitude of his new role and the stewardship Jacobs showed to the brand in his nearly two-decade run. And, if early reviews of Ghesquière's classic, fresh, and feminine first collection are any indication, the storied house of Louis Vuitton Malletier is in good hands.
