The proverbial cat — or should we say whippet? — is out of the bag. Today Cara Delevingne revealed exactly what her “creative project” with It Brit label Mulberry is. And, we're pleased to say it’s a handbag collection (though a temporary tattoo range would have been pretty wonderful, too).
The supermodel unveiled the Cara Delevingne Mulberry capsule collection in the hallowed halls of Claridge's ballroom, which was transformed into the rural idyll of the Somerset countryside (home of the brand’s U.K. ateliers) for the day.
While it's easy to see this as just another It bag with a celebrity’s name attached to it, it's not. The supermodel was instrumental in the conception and realisation of the tote. She scoured the company’s archives to find the inspiration for a bag that would meet the needs of her busy lifestyle as well as the Mulberry customer.
Practically and functionally are key to the design of this tote/rucksack. With detachable shoulder straps and gilt zip detailing, it’s easy to see how this carryall could become the most used and loved accessory in every woman’s wardrobe.
