The 2014 .GIFYS Awards Are Upon Us — Deal With It

It's finally happened: The Internet has created its own awards show. And, just what awards show is the Internet hosting? A GIF one, obviously. The folks who surf the web and tumble through the wee hours of the night now have an opportunity to walk their own (digital) red carpet of cosmic stars, LOLcats, Doges and all.
The guys and gals at CPB Los Angeles, an L.A.-based advertising agency, decided it was high time we "honor the animated GIF as a medium, social commentary, and art form." So, without further adieu, we present to you The .GIFYS, for the best GIFs of the year. The only thing we ask of you is to lightly step into the black hole of voting for your favorites. The .GIFYS has narrowed a countless number of looping animations down to 12 categories, each containing five GIFs. Favorites like Lil Bub and that tumultuous boat ride made the cut — in addition to the forever-humorous "Oprah Bees" loop. It's a shame only one Doge made the cut, but hey, beggars can't be choosers.

Winners will be announced tomorrow, so get voting. May the odds be ever in your fave's favor. (Fast.Co)
