Schiaparelli Names Its Creative Director. Welcome, Marco Zanini!

As rumors predicted, former Rochas designer Marco Zanini will be taking the helm at the recently revived Schiaparelli fashion house. Following the Prada-partnered Met Ball exhibit and last summer's capsule collection from Christian Lacroix, this new announcement truly puts the wheels in motion to create new designs from a label that was closed by Elsa Schiaparelli herself in 1954.
As WWD reports, Zanini — who presented his final runway show for Rochas just last week after an eight year tenure — is expected to release a new Schiaparelli collection at the couture shows in January. The brand is calling it "pret-à-couture," and, as the story reports, we can expect it to be an elevated and super-luxe kind of ready-to-wear. Of course — and no pressure, Marco — we have high, high hopes for the brand's revival and are excited to see how the designer takes the beauty he's infused at Rochas to a brand that upholds the great Schiaparelli name.
