Being pregnant is one of the bigger life changes a woman can experience, but compound that with two very public deaths within your tight-knit family, and the whole experience can feel entirely overwhelming. In the first public interview a member of the Missoni family has given since chief executive Vittorio Missoni's tragically plane crashed off the coast of Venezuela and co-founder Ottavio Missoni's passing at the age of 92, Margherita Missoni opened up to The Times about how she's able to process it all, especially while expecting her first child: "Of course it was hard for me. I've had a very intense pregnancy, with all the things that have happened, but it wasn't my [own] father — other family members have had a harder time. We are hoping this will be closed very soon. It has helped us a lot that there are so many of us and we are so tight. It's easier than if you were having to face it all on your own."
"It's the first baby born in our family for 18 years. Everyone is getting very excited about him being born. I'm going to have a big network of support because Missoni headquarters is in the countryside outside Milan, and my grandmother's house is 400m from mine. I can come to the office and the baby can be out in the woods with her. I'm very, very lucky."
