Guess Who Made The Cover Of Vogue? Not Just Gwen Stefani…

Gwen Stefani's no stranger to magazine covers. But even though she's the cover star of of Vogue's January issue, she's still sharing in with the new kid in town. That's right, we're talkin' about that suit! Hedi Slimane's controversial first collection for the brand formerly known as Yves Saint Laurent made its editorial debut under the headline "Rock Chic," and we gotta say, it makes sense.
Seeing a collection styled and in action usually offers a different perspective, something very evident here. For instance, we didn't quite realize how baroque the detailing for the collection really is. On the runway, Slimane's pieces seemed sleek and well-tailored, but with a distinctly West coast attitude. But when Gwen wears full looks on the cover and in the interior spreads, the suits pop with more personality than they did back in September.
Harsh critics and true believers alike have noted the collection's wearable, customer-based designs. Now that they're off the runway and making their way to the fashion closets — and shelves — of the world, it seems appropriate to give them a second consideration. What do you think?
