Take Your Picture With A Shirtless David Beckham, Really!

Does anyone else think Michelangelo is so passé? Maybe it's time for a new David in the sculpture world? Well, you asked for it: As part of the campaign for the new installment of David Beckham Bodywear for H&M, statues of the underwear-clad soccer star will be appearing in several locations around New York City, Los Angeles, and San Francisco.
These nine works of art will be unveiled on Thursday, August 16, and we're pretty sure these larger-than-life statues — 11-feet-tall to be exact — will cause quite the buzz, if the Superbowl ad was anything to go by. Indeed, Becks stands nearly nude in a pair of his signature briefs, looking sideways. (We think pedestrians, however, will be looking straight, uh, ahead.)
The original hunk o' marble represents the biblical giant-killer and was a political statement in Florence, as the statue (in its original location) looked pointedly toward Rome in warning. So, what does Becks' sideways stare mean in this commercial reinterpretation? You'd better buy my underpants or else? Posh, don't you dare make me put pants on?
Not sure we'll be able to stop ourselves from touching if we pass one of these on the street. What do you think of this unusual gimmick?
