Blake Shelton & Gwen Stefani Just Got Engaged — Let’s Look At Their Love Story

There's nothing that brings joy to a celebrity news lover like a very random new couple, and the world got an epic one in the fall of 2015 when Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton started dating. While the pairing was definitely surprising at the time, over five years later, they're still going strong — and even got engaged.

They're also still putting out music together. So far, the couple has released multiple duets, and most recently won a CMA for their work on "Nobody But You," which they first performed together at the 2020 Gramm Awards back in January. The video for Stefani and Shelton's hit song highlights all their differences, but it does so as they sing, "I don't wanna go down any other road now. I don't wanna love nobody but you."

It's pretty clear Stefani and Shelton are a solid celeb couple, and most of us have at least partially adjusted to the idea of the No Doubt icon dating the twangy guy from The Voice and the most controversial The Sexiest Man Alive in recent memory. But how did we get to this point? Let's take things back to the very beginning of Stefani and Shelton's relationship, when they first met. Fun fact: Back then, she had no idea who he was.

2014: Gwen Stefani & Blake Shelton Met

Even though they're both in the music business, Stefani and Shelton first met on the set of The Voice in 2014. In fact, Stefani didn't know who the country singer was until she joined the show as a judge. "Before I was on The Voice I never heard of him before," she told Ellen DeGeneres in November 2015. "I’m an O.C. girl. Like, what would I know?"

Stefani joined season 7 of The Voice, and her then-husband, musician Gavin Rossdale, was the advisor for her team of singers. Stefani skipped season 8, and when she returned as a coach in season 9, she was without Rossdale in more ways than one.
